Spam spam spam spam
On Tuesday Suzanne blogged about finding a freelance listing looking for people willing to help market books by posting short paragraphs about the books on bulletin boards and book sites. The pay is per comment, and they say you can make up to $300 a month by posting fewer than 20 comments a week.
Today I got my first spam comment that looks like it comes from a real person trying to make a quick couple of hundred dollars the stealth marketing way (instead of coming from a Japanese robot turned loose on teh internets to maim and kill bandwidth). The topic was not books but children's clothes:
I'm so glad that you have had a pleasant shopping experience at [Noadvertisingallowed].com, Sidney. And I certainly appreciate how important it can be to try to make a few bucks at home while you're watching your kids, or whatever it is you do. You gotta eat, you gotta pay for the roof over your head. And kids' clothes -- even at [Noadvertisingallowed].com -- aren't cheap, either.
But there are honest ways to make a living, and dishonest ones. And if you choose to ply a dishonest trade over here on my little blog, well, don't be surprised if I answer with a little old-fashioned public shaming, OK?

I love to shop for baby clothes. I usually shop on line though. I have a tough time bringing my litter to the stores. I love [Noadvertisingallowed].com Lovely little clothes there!Or so says Sidney, from twodressalike@hotmail.com.
